Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub announce their upcoming July events. The listings are as follows:
Friday, July 1
GARETH EMERY + BLAKE JARRELL + RANK 1 @ Nightclub
After releasing his first album "Northern Lights" in 2010, scoring the number one spot on US iTunes within hours of its debut, Gareth Emery continues his onslaught with an award-winning podcast of more than 100 episodes over the last four years, recently releasing the official remix of Britney Spears' newest single, "I Wanna Go," and his own album featuring Lucy Saunders, "Fight the Sunrise" out last May. His "Maldives (Original Mix)" is set for release this month.
Emery is joined by Chicago-native Blake Jarrell, whose own monthly "Concentrate Podcast" features signature mix sets and special international guests. With a schedule that sees him flying between Ibiza, Dubai, Singapore and Los Angeles, he continually releases new original music and remixes, some of which will premiere this month at Marquee Las Vegas.
Also joining the lineup is Rank 1. Formed in the Netherlands in 1997, Rank 1 is widely regarded as one of the originators of the Dutch trance sound. Their biggest hit is the 1999 track "Airwave", which reached #25 in the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. The duo's tracks "L.E.D. There Be Light" and "Symfo" have been chosen to represent a number of music festivals worldwide.
Saturday, July 2
DIRTY SOUTH + AVICII @ Dayclub
Remixed and specially edited versions of his classics have just been released on the compilation ‘Strictly Dirty South,' but this Serbian-Australian DJ is far from slowing down. Known for his Grammy-nominated remix of Temper Trap's "Sweet Disposition" with Axwell last year, Dirty South returns to Marquee every month for his epic Starphazing residency, which continues to showcase his signature dark house sound among stunning visuals and costumed dancers -- see it for yourself in "Dirty South at Marquee Las Vegas" on YouTube.
Dirty South is joined by Avicii, who has established himself as one of the leaders of electronic dance music, after having won the International Dance Music Award for Best Breakthrough Solo Artist and being named Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2010 by Tiësto. Avicii lives up to his hype, smashing remix after remix and establishing himself as a cornerstone of house music with his original sound, which can be previewed on his Soundcloud. "It's just amazing to see how much EDM is growing in the States in general, especially in Vegas" he says of his frequent dates at Marquee. Saturday, July 2
ERICK MORILLO with Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano @ Nightclub
A regular in the Top 5 on Beatport, Erick Morillo's newly released single "Stronger" featuring Eddie Thoneick and Shawnee Taylor from his 2010 album, ‘Live Your Life,' promises to soundtrack the summer. After launching his own label Subliminal in 1997, Morillo now has a regular Sessions Podcast, while continuing to fill dance floors worldwide. Known especially for his Subliminal Sessions residency in Ibiza every summer, Morillo faithfully returns to Vegas for Subliminal Sessions at Marquee -- a futuristic affair featuring spectacular custom videos and glow-in-the-dark costumed dancers. (Take a peek with "Marquee Las Vegas: Erick Morillo" on YouTube.)
Opening the night are Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, an energetic Dutch duo who match soulful vocals with deep and funky house. When not performing all over the globe, they can be found in their Amsterdam studio coming up with one dancefloor destroyer after another. Their 2008 debut tracks include "Pina" and "Lift U Up feat. Reese & Chappell," after which Steve Angello scooped up "Traffic" and "Snitch" for release on his Size Records label. The duo has also made several remixes for the likes of Sander Kleinenberg ("This Is Our Night"), Kaskade ("Dynasty") and Diplo ft. Busta Rhymes ("C'mon").
Sunday, July 3
FATBOY SLIM @ Dayclub
An electronic music pioneer since the ‘90s, Fatboy Slim has continually reinvented performances and recordings, playing as Beats International, Freak Power, and most recently as Brighton Port Authority, but now returns to his original stage name, headlining Detroit's Movement Festival, playing a set at Glastonbury 2011, and returning for his 3-month residency Fatboy Slim Las Vegas Take Over at Marquee Dayclub. With his debut turning into a truly unique experience due to crazy weather (watch the event unfold in "Fatboy Slim at Marquee Las Vegas" on YouTube), the ever-intrepid Fatboy Slim is ready to bring the spirit of Brighton Beach back to the Strip again. With exclusive re-edits of his iconic tracks (think "The Rockafeller Skank" meets The Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction") and a no-holds-barred musical approach that takes in everything from Latin Samba to big-room house, Fatboy Slim's July Take Over will be where the fireworks really are on Independence Day Weekend.
Sunday, July 3
EC TWINS + SUNNERY JAMES & RYAN MARCIANO @ Nightclub
After a rousing performance at Marquee Dayclub to set off the weekend, EC Twins return to complete the weekend at the Nightclub, electrifying the dancefloor with energetic performances of their European dance-influenced house music. Outside will be Dutch duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano bringing back their soulful vocals with deep and funky house for a second appearance.
