AWESOME 80S PROM Debuts at Planet Hollywood's V Theater, 7/14

Ken Davenport has announced that the Off-Broadway phenomenon The Awesome 80s Prom, now in its ninth year at the famed club Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street), will be opening at the V Theater inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas on Saturday, July 14, 2012. The Vegas edition of The Awesome 80s Prom is produced by Sirc Michaels Productions.

While New York audiences continue to party like it’s 1989, The Awesome 80s Prom has enjoyed runs in Boston, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Arizona, Chicago, and even Korea! Audiences have consumed over 80,000 wine coolers, 160,000 packs of pop rocks and made over 330,000 attempts at "The Worm" during the last eight years of The Awesome 80s Prom. It is also licensed to the public and has already been performed at many regional theaters and high schools throughout the country.

The Awesome 80s Prom is the acclaimed interactive experience in the style of Tony n' Tina's Wedding set at Wanaget High's Senior Prom...in 1989! All your favorite characters from your favorite '80s movies are at The Prom; from the captain of the football team to the Asian exchange student, from the geek to the hot head-cheerleader, all competing to be Prom King and Queen. Just like on "American Idol," the audience decides who wins, all the while moonwalkin' to great retro hits. Come "Back in Time," and join the break-dance circle or just sit back and watch the '80s drama unfold. If you’re lucky, you’ll even get to dance with the captain of the football team! And this time, you don’t have a curfew!

In New York, The Awesome 80s Prom continues to perform Saturday evenings at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street). The Prom starts at 8 PM; although there's dancing and Duran Duran from 7:30 PM.
